"A Tribute Letter to My Beloved Pastor and Father in the Faith, Most Excellent Pastor Theophilus Owase July 8, 2026 — The Day Heaven Welcomed Home a Faithful Servant To the Family of Pastor Theophilus Owase, the Leadership of Christ Embassy, BLW Campus Ministry, and All Who Mourn This Great Loss: I write this letter with tears in my eyes and gratitude in my heart. Gratitude, because I was privileged to know a man whose life was a living sacrifice. Tears, because the earth no longer carries his footsteps — though his footprints remain etched deeply in souls like mine. My name is Bro. Michael Monday, and I am one of the many sons in the faith whose life was shaped by the fatherly hand of Pastor Theophilus Owase. How We Met I first met Pastor Tee during a leaders' meeting in campus ministry. I was young, eager, and perhaps a little rough around the edges. He was already a seasoned servant of God — bold, courageous, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. But what struck me most was not his anointing on the platform, but his warmth in person. He did not treat me as just another young person in the crowd. He saw me. He knew me. And over time, he took me under his wing. The Privilege of Serving Him Closely One of the greatest honors of my life was the privilege of driving Pastor Tee in his cars and bringing him food when he needed to eat. Some might see these as small tasks. But I knew better. These moments were not merely errands — they were sacred windows into the heart of a man who gave everything to God and His people. In those quiet moments behind the wheel, or while sharing a meal together, I heard his heart. I heard his burdens for souls. I heard his prayers for the young people he mentored. I heard his dreams for the Kingdom. He never treated me as a driver or an assistant. He treated me as a son. And when I brought him food, he would often pause — not just to eat, but to pray, to speak life, to ask about my walk with God. He turned ordinary moments into altars. He made every interaction count for eternity. His Fatherly Hand Over My Life Pastor Tee was not a distant figure to me. He was my mentor, discipler, and intercessor rolled into one. He mentored me — teaching me what it means to serve God with integrity, consistency, and humility. He showed me that ministry is not about titles, but about showing up, day after day, for the sake of the Gospel. He disciplined me — not out of anger, but out of love. When I stumbled, he corrected me. he was patient. He never gave up on me, even when I tested his patience. He wanted to bring out the best in me, just as he did with everyone around him. He prayed for me — fervently, faithfully, and with a burden that only a true shepherd carries. I do not know how many nights he stayed up interceding for me and others like me. But I know this: his prayers have covered me, and they will continue to protect me long after he has gone to be with the Lord. What I Will Miss Most I will miss the sound of his voice — whether leading worship with fire, preaching with conviction, or simply calling to check in on how I was doing. I will miss the moments behind the wheel, when he would share a word of wisdom that would stick with me for weeks. I will miss sitting with him over a meal, watching a weary servant of God refuel his body while never losing sight of his calling. I will miss his prayers — the kind that shift atmospheres and leave you feeling like you can conquer the world because Pastor Tee has covered you in the presence of God. But most of all, I will miss knowing that he is still here on earth, fighting the fight, running the race, and shepherding souls like mine. But This Is Not Goodbye Pastor Tee taught me that death is not an ending for the believer — it is a promotion. It is the moment when the faithful servant hears those words we all long to hear: "Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your lord." — Matthew 25:23 And so, though my heart aches, I celebrate. I celebrate a life well-lived. I celebrate a race well-run. I celebrate a faithfulness that has now been rewarded with a crown of righteousness. Pastor Tee is no longer weary. He is no longer burdened. He is no longer interceding through tears. He is now in the presence of the One he loved, served, and preached about for so many years. And one day, by God's grace, I will see him again — not in a campus chapel, not in a church auditorium, but in the place where the Redeemer dwells forever. A Promise to My Pastor To Pastor Tee, I make this promise: I will carry your legacy. I will serve God with the same consistency you showed me. I will mentor others the way you mentored me. I will pray for souls the way you prayed for me. I will bring out the best in others, just as you brought out the best in me. Your fire will not go out. It will burn in me, and in all whose lives you touched. To His Family To the family of Pastor Tee: I cannot imagine the depth of your loss. But I want you to know that your brother was not only yours — he belonged to God, and he was a gift to multitudes. We grieve with you, but we also celebrate with you. Because we know where he is. And we know that his life was not in vain. Final Words Pastor Theophilus Owase — driver, mentor, father, shepherd, worshiper, psalmist, preacher, servant. You taught me that ministry is sacrifice. "I remember the first day I heard you were transferred to AAU. I saw you, and somehow, it felt like I had met you before, even though I had never actually seen you.
