"TRIBUTE TO PASTOR THEO Words cannot fully express the gratitude in my heart for Pastor Theo. Today I celebrate a life that changed mine forever. When I gave my life to Christ as a student at Kenyatta University, it was through Believers Loveworld (BLW). I was discipled by Pastor Evans and Pastor Victor, who faithfully served under Pastor Theo. Through their ministry, I encountered Jesus, and my life has never been the same. I thank God for Pastor Theo, who answered the call of God and left his home in Nigeria to come to Kenya with a heart to reach university students with the Gospel through the ministry of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. Because of his obedience, BLW was established in our universities, and countless lives, including mine, were transformed. Through that ministry, I came to know who I am in Christ. "Some people don’t just preach the Gospel—they become living examples of it. Pastor Theo was one of those rare men. He was a man completely resolved for the Gospel. His life was poured out in service to God and in raising others. One thing that always stood out to me was his unwavering passion to see young people’s lives transformed. He believed in people long before they believed in themselves. He loved deeply, encouraged generously, and always wanted the very best for everyone he encountered. I first met Pastor Theo in 2011 when I had just joined university. I was passionate about starting a campus fellowship, so I reached out to him on Facebook. To my surprise, he responded and soon informed me that he would be coming to Rwanda to help establish the campus ministry. Looking back today, I can confidently say that the foundation I received through those campus ministry trainings is one of the greatest reasons I am still standing firm in the faith today. Pastor Theo saw potential in me that I had not yet fully discovered myself. He challenged me to become relevant in the Kingdom and taught me to remain steadfast regardless of the circumstances. As the years have passed and I have now become a pastor myself, I find myself drawing constantly from the wisdom, discipline, and convictions he imparted. His words to never give up on the work of the ministry and never yield to pressure continue to echo in my heart. My last encounter with him was on 9th June 2026 during MBTC. I specifically requested to meet with him because I needed guidance on some important matters, and there was simply no one else I desired to speak with more than him. We spent nearly an hour together, and he spoke words of wisdom, direction, and encouragement that ministered deeply to me. At the end of our conversation, I told him, “If this was the only reason I travelled to Nigeria, then God has answered my prayer.” I left that meeting strengthened, encouraged, and deeply grateful. Today, I thank God for the gift that Pastor Theo was to my life and to countless others around the world. His impact cannot be measured merely by the messages he preached, but by the lives he transformed, the leaders he raised, and the unwavering faith he inspired in so many of us. Thank you, Pastor Theo, for believing in me, for investing in me, and for showing me what a life fully committed to the Gospel looks like.
